In the project I’m about to show you we were given a basic context, where we have a square surrounded by two “non use given” buildings, and the sea on the other sides.

In the basic design course we are prepared to design a building without considering certain use, what we are ask is to respond to certain characteristics of the context where the building is placed.
Normally, people think that architects design based on pure passion and esthetic, but that’s where they’re wrong, because not everything is about the art, the logic has a big role on a design project.
In the project I’m about to show you we were given a basic context, where we have a square surrounded by two “non use given” buildings, and the sea on the other sides.
I will show you how I develop the punctual building that has a great position because it is near to the main building and also near to the square, and has easy access from 2 of the 3 entrances.
The design is based on the client, which is a fashion designer, that’s why in the inside of the building the journey is by ramp, as you were walking down the runway on a fashion show.
The openings are big and bright as the showcase of the nicest boutiques. For my client the most important thing was that the building had different views with quality, and that the walking thru the building could be slow and enjoyable. The open concept of the house is based on the same principle, which implied that you can enjoy the house from every single place.
In my opinion, the sunlight entrance is very important, but you got to know how to make it work, that’s why in my design is subtle.
The structure is basically made of concrete and glass.
